When you arrive at the Club de Golf del Uruguay GC, you immediately know you’re on a MacKenzie course with the sloped greens and camouflage bunkering. The Club de Golf of Uruguay is not only aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but punishing to the foolhardy golfer without a plan of attack.
The course involves many lovely tree-lined fairways and, with views of the calm river below, you find yourself having a pleasant round even though the good Doctor has surgically subjected your golf game to death by a thousand small cuts.
Hole number 2, a par 4 of 447 yards with out of bounds to the left, wide fairway and a cross bunker at the level of the 200 yards.Hole number 14, a par 5 of 531 yards with out of bounds to the left, a water Hazard 60 yards to the green and Bun-kers at both sides of the green. Hole number 16 has been recognized by Golf Magazine as one of the 500 Best holes in the World.
